K-9 Corona 

The K-9 Unit is made up of a K-9 Officer and a Patrol Officer. Our current K-9 Officer is Corona, who is handled by Officer Adam Goodwillie.

Corona is a 2 year old Dutch Shepherd. She was born in the Netherlands and then imported to the US by Kasseberg Kanine in New Market, Alabama. She was purchased by the Yankton Police Department in the Summer of 2021. 

The K-9 Unit must complete an 8 week drug detection training course, followed by an 8 week patrol class. The patrol class consists of criminal apprehension, tracking, building searches, handler protection, area searches, and evidence recovery.
