You may dispose of unused or unneeded medication at the Safety Center at 410 Walnut Street. A white metal return container is available in the lobby, which is open 24/7. This free service requires no forms, and the premises are monitored.

- Needles (Sharps) - these can be taken to the Yankton Transfer Station located at 1200 W 23rd Street
- Medication from Businesses or Clinics
- Ointments, Lotions or Liquids
- To safely dispose of liquids, never pour them down the drain; instead, it is advisable to mix it with an absorbent material like cat litter in a sealed bag and throw it in the trash.
