The City of Yankton developed the Storm Water Management Program to address the quality of storm water that is discharged from the community to receiving streams, channels, and ultimately the Missouri River. The program was developed in response to the provisions of the Clean Water Act administered by the EPA in conjunction with State of South Dakota regulations imposed by the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources (SD/DENR) on March 10, 2003.
