2015 Recycling Schedule

City of Yankton Street Department

The program will follow an “every other” week recycling collection schedule.  The City of Yankton would also like to eliminate some of the confusion associated with solid waste and recyclable collection around the holiday season.  The Finance Department has recycling calendars available for customers.

Christmas Day – December 25, 2014

Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Friday, December 26, 2014.

New Year’s Day – January 1, 2015

Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Friday, January 2, 2015.

President's Day – February 16, 2015

Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.

Memorial Day – May 25, 2015

Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

Independence Day – July 3, 2015

Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Thursday, July 2, 2015.

Labor Day – September 7, 2015

Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.

Veteran’s Day Observed – November 11, 2015

Wednesday and Thursday routes will be collected on Thursday, November 12, 2015.

Thanksgiving Day – November 26, 2015

Wednesday and Thursday routes will be collected on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015.

Day after Thanksgiving – November 27, 2015

Friday routes will be collected on Friday, November 27, 2015.

Christmas Day – December 25, 2015

Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Thursday, December 24, 2015.

The City of Yankton hopes the calendar will make the curbside recycling more convenient for its customers. The City of Yankton would like to remind you to have your recyclables and solid waste set out before 7:00 A.M., on your scheduled collection days.  The Solid Waste and Recycling Department allows two 33-gallon trash containers. 

If you have any questions regarding the change to the recycling schedule, holiday collection or any other concerns regarding solid waste collection or curbside recycling, feel free to contact Adam Haberman, Street Superintendent / Public Works Manager, at his office between 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.  His office number is:  668-5211.
