Wastewater Plant Maintenance Supervisor

 

The City of Yankton is seeking qualified applicants for Wastewater Plant Maintenance Supervisor in the Utilities Department.

 

An employee in this position  assigns daily work to operators; assists in completion of assignments; operates plant equipment at an Extended Aeration Mechanical Plant; inspects work for quality and completion; performs overall maintenance and repair of plant facility, pump stations, structures, lagoons and equipment necessary for collection and treatment of wastewater; performs scheduled preventive maintenance on plant machinery including oil changes, air handlers, plumbing and basic electrical devices; maintains grounds on wastewater plant facility; removes snow; performs duty of Wastewater Plant Superintendent in their absence.  Rotates on call and works approximately every fifth weekend or as required; does process control testing on scheduled weekends.  All candidates for this position must have an associates degree in related field, SD commercial drivers’ license, Class II certification in wastewater treatment or the ability to obtain certification.   Must maintain certification level through continuing education requirements set by state.  Additional experience performing building maintenance electric/electronic and/or plumbing field work is desirable.  Related experience may substitute for education.  This is a regular full-time position.  The salary range for this position is $42,727 – $57,808 annually.

TRANSFER STATION ATTENDANT

 

 

The City of Yankton is currently accepting applications for the position of Transfer Station Attendant for the Solid Waste Division in the Department of Public Works.

 

An employee in this position is responsible for the efficient performance of tasks of a routine nature requiring the use of some acquired knowledge in the handling of waste containers, recycling and the care of City equipment.  This position requires some knowledge of personal computers and skill in the use of appropriate software.

 

Candidates in this position must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED,  be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License at their own expense within 30 days of hire; and six months full-time equipment maintenance/operation and/or solid waste disposal work. 

 

The scheduled work week for this position is Tuesday through Saturday.  This is a regular full-time position.  The starting salary for this position is $26,729 annually, plus fringe benefits.
