Yankton Housing and Redevelopment Commission Landlord Resources
LANDLORD RESOURCES:
Yankton Housing & Redevelopment Commission administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. YHRC works with landlords in the community to ensure a low income tenant has safe, affordable housing. The YHRC contracts with the landlord to subsidize a portion of the tenants rent. The landlord is responsible for screening the tenant and enforcing their lease with the tenant. The property owner and/or landlord are responsible for the upkeep of the property. The property must also meet minimum HUD inspection standards.
Below is a listing of Landlord resources and forms:
ACH: YHRC pays the contracted subsidy on the first of the month, which is deposited into a designated bank account.
W-9: Legal business name and tax information.
HQS Inspection: This is the HUD issued form that YHRC uses when inspecting a property initially, or at time of recertification. The unit MUST pass inspection before the Housing Assistance can be paid. The landlord will be notified in writing of any issues that failed the inspection and given 30 days to correct the issue.
Landlords may also list their rentals on our CLEARINGHOUSE listing, by contacting our office at 668-5256. This listing is available to all tenants whether they are on our program or not.
