Project Updates

2018-01-31 - Bid Opening

2018-02-26 - Bid award to Slowey Construction

2018-03-28 - Construction begins.  8th Street will be closed to thru traffic from Broadway to Summit.  The contractor will maintain access to local residents.  Access to Lincoln School will be maintained on Locust Street, including the intersection of Locust Street and 8th Street whenever5 feasible.

2018-07-09 - By Wednesday, the intersection of 8th & Maple will be closed.  Slowey will be removing pavement and installing underground utilities.  Currently, the Locust Street intersection has temporary gravel, to allow traffic to cross 8th Street.  Linn Street intersection is closed, as the contractor is setting up the paving machine to place concrete on Wednesday.

2018-07-17The contractor will be closing the Locust Street intersection and opening the Linn Street intersection to north-south traffic.  8th Street remains closed due to newly placed concrete and underground utility installation.  The next paving phase, which will end just east of Green Street, is scheduled for Thursday, July 19th.

2018-08-29 - The Linn Street and Locust Street intersections are open for north-south traffic. The next paving phase, which will start just east of Maple Street, is scheduled for Thursday, August 30th. Final lawn and boulevard restoration will be happening this week along Phase 1 of the project. The intersections of Green Street, Maple Street, Spruce Street, and Park Street are closed to through traffic. Access on Westside Drive will be limited.

2018-09-13 - The road and sidewalk paving is complete from Linn Street to Maple Street.  The street is open to traffic from Broadway Avenue to Locust Street.  The contractor anticipates paving from Maple Street to Spruce Street in the next week.  Utility installations are also progressing. Sanitary sewer has been installed the entire length of 8th Street. That leaves only the sanitary sewer on Park Street and West Side Drive to be installed. Water main installation is complete to just west of Spruce Street. Everything east of Spruce Street has been tested and service lines are being swapped from old to new.  Storm Sewer has been installed all the way to Park Street. The contractor will be heading north, on Park Street, with the storm pipe installation. Once in place, this will be a great benefit for the drainage in the Park Street area.

2018-11-16 - Project is complete!
