parks_master_plan_sertomaThe City of Yankton and Stockwell Engineers, from Sioux Falls, SD, finalized a master plan on May 12, 2014, for the City’s outdoor sports fields.  The planning process began in November of 2012. The master plan was based on the Town Hall meeting and public comments from November, 2012; the user group one-on-one meetings from the spring of 2013; and the City's demographic information.

The master plan is a long-range strategic document.  Identifying land that can house the recommended new facilities and identifying funding sources for all the recommendations are two issues that will involve the entire community to find solutions to keep the community improving on its quality of life.
