The Building Department is responsible for issuing building permits within the city limits and the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction.

Codes adopted as amended are on file in the Community and Economic Development office.
Other Projects: The valuation to be used in computing the permit fee shall be the total value of all work, as well as all finish work, painting, roof, electrical, plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, elevators, fire extinguishing systems and other permanent work.
Permits Required: Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove convert or replace any plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be done, shall first make application to the City and obtain the required permit.
The Building Official may exempt permits for minor work.
