The City Manager's office is currently open with substantial restrictions as defined by Phase 0 (Planning & Implementation) and Phase 1 of the City of Yankton Facilities and Services Plan.  Phase 1 is active case numbers 50+ in the county, upward trend in COVID-19 active cases or a doubling rate lower than 5 days.  This status is also affected by facility risk factors, staffing and or the availability of personal protective equipment.

City Hall’s entry doors are locked and most business is being conducted via technology or on site for construction projects.

Yankton's City Manager Amy Leon began her duties January 2, 2013. A native of Ortonville, Minnesota, Amy grew up on Big Stone Lake. Her education and work experiences include a BA in Political Science, MA in Urban Planning, Downtown Development Director, Community Planner, Assistant City Manager and City Manager.

The City Manager’s office employs three persons: the City Manager, an Administrative Secretary and a Human Resources Coordinator. The City Manager’s office is located on second floor of City Hall.

The City Manager's office serves as the Information Center for the City. Any citizen who has a concern or question may contact this office. Please refer to the Directory of Services page for who to call for specific issues. In addition, the City Manager’s office prepares the agenda and commission packets every two weeks for the City Commission meetings. Any person who has an agenda item for discussion should contact this office (668-5221) for further information.
