2018_city_electionThe April 10, 2018 election is for three of the nine City Commission seats. City Commissioners are elected for a three year term. Nominating petitions must be filed in the City Finance Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday February 23, 2018.  Deadline for voter registration for the municipal election is March 26, 2018. The polls will be open on election day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Absentee voting begins March 26, 2018.  Ballots may be cast at City Hall 416 Walnut Street from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday from March 26 - April 9, 2018..  2018 Sample Ballot

To vote, you must either:

  • Present a photo ID, or if not able to do so,
  • Sign an affidavit which will be given to you.
Accepted forms of photo identification include any one of the following:
  • A SD driver license or non-driver ID card; or
  • A US government photo ID; or
  • A tribal photo ID; or
  • A current student photo ID from a SD high school or SD Accredited institution of higher education.
Election information and Petitions are available on the South Dakota Secretary of State's web site.

 

Election Day is Tuesday April 10, 2018.  Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Voting centers are located at:

  • City Hall - 416 Walnut Street
  • JoDean's - 2809 Broadway Avenue
