City of Yankton - Code Enforcement
The employees in this department are responsible for the enforcement of building, zoning, and plumbing codes; boiler certification, provisions of the American with Disabilities Act; issuance of building permits; drainage permits for private site development and flood plain management. General code enforcement that is important to the quality of life of the citizens is addressed through the efforts of the personnel.
Application of codes covering mobile home parks, abandoned vehicles, dangerous and abandoned structures, weed and sidewalk snow removal complaints, along with many others are addressed by the efforts of this section of Community Development.
