Yankton's new City Manager Amy Nelson will begin her duties January 2, 2013. A native of Ortonville, Minnesota, Amy grew up on Big Stone Lake. Her education and work experiences include a BA in Political Science, MA in Urban Planning, Downtown Development Director, Community Planner, Assistant City Manager and City Manager.
The City Managerís office employs three persons: the City Manager, an Administrative Secretary and a Human Resources Coordinator. The City Managerís office is located on second floor of City Hall.
The City Manager's office serves as the Information Center for the City. Any citizen who has a concern or question may contact this office. Please refer to the Directory of Services page for who to call for specific issues. In addition, the City Managerís office prepares the agenda and commission packets every two weeks for the City Commission meetings. Any person who has an agenda item for discussion should contact this office (668-5221) for further information.
