Riverside Park Parking Lot & Trail Closure

Post Date:01/26/2017 8:42 AM

The upcoming water treatment plant construction project will impact Riverside Park and access to facilities in the park.  From June 5, 2017, to January 1, 2019, the Capitol Building parking lot, including the drive down to the parking lot, will be CLOSED.  The trail segment along the river from the Capitol Building to the Meridian Bridge will also be CLOSED during this time.

The Capitol Building may still be rented/used in that date range, but access to the building will be from on-street parking (Levee and Douglas) or from the other parking lots in the park and utilizing the walking trails/sidewalks.  This closure is due to the building addition that will be added to the current water treatment plant.  The addition will be to the east and south sides of the building and will impact the parking lot drive.

Visit this link for more information and for a map of the parking areas that will be available during the construction period.
